TRAINING/EVENTS
Training:
Training is scheduled to begin again in August, 2008. To learn more about CASA SHAW and what we do to advocate for children in foster care, please come to one of the scheduled orientation sessions in either of the two locations. listed below.
I. THE PEOPLE CARE CENTER
at 120 Finderne Avenue in Bridgewater, NJ in the conference room on the first floor. Parking is in the rear of the building, then follow the signs for CASA SHAW Orientation. The dates and times are as follows:
Monday, August 4th 11:00am-12:30 pm
Tuesday, August 12th 5:30pm-7:00pm
Wednesday, August 20th 3:00pm-4:30pm
Thursday, August 28th 5:30pm-7:00pm
Training will be held in the evenings and 2 Saturdays over a 3 week period. We meet in the cafeteria at the People Care Center on the following evenings: September 8, 9, 15, 16, & 22 from 5:30pm - 9:30pm. We will also meet on Saturdays, September 13 & 20 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. At these training events you will meet with the family court judge, DYFS representatives, the law guardians for the children, and parents, various community service representatives from Somerset County and the staff and volunteer advocates of CASA SHAW.
II. CASA SHAW OFFICE,
150 Boulevard (Suite 4B), Washington, NJ
at 150 Boulevard, Suite 4B (2nd Floor) Washington, NJ in the conference room. Parking is in the front and side of the building, then follow the signs for CASA SHAW Orientation. The dates and times are as follows:
Tuesday, October 7th 5:30pm - 7:00pm
Wednesday, October 15th 3:00pm - 4:30pm
Thursday, October 23rd 5:30pm - 7:00pm
Training will be held in the evenings and 2 Saturdays over a 3 week period. We will meet at Warren County Community College on Route 57, Washington, NJ on the following evenings: November 3, 4, 10, 11, & 17 from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. We will also meet on Saturdays, November 8 & 15 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. At these training events you will meet with the family court judge, DYFS representatives, the law guardians for the children, and parents, various community service representatives from Warren County and the staff and volunteer advocates of CASA SHAW.

Victorian Playhouse to be raffled off to benefit CASA SHAW's mission: A child's 8' x 10' outdoor Victorian wooden playhouse will be raffled off at the Bridgewater Commons.
Tickets may be purchased Saturdays & Sundays outside Starbucks.
$2/Ticket or $10/ book of 5 Tickets
Drawing will be April 30, 2008 at 6:30 pm at Bridgewater Commons.
